The Placer County Contractors Association (PCCA) celebrated another successful year of growth for the contractors of Placer County, and Frayji Design Group, a civil engineer serving Sacramento, received accolades for its engineering accomplishments as a result. The PCCA is a Non Profit Corporation that is founded on the goals of improving the quality of construction projects throughout the region and the Annual Dinner provides the grand opportunity to highlight and promote projects that stand out in the region for improving working and living conditions.
The Placer County Contractors Association recognized the Nelson Road Improvement Project by conferring the PCCA 2015 Annual Dinner award for Best Project of The Year in their region, a truly momentous honor. As described by the Award, “the project is a key element in improving the access to the Lincoln Airport region, and is a vital infrastructure to handle the imminent growth in the area.” As a result, the “PCCA Board of Directors hereby recognizes Frayji Design Group for their efforts to improve the economic conditions of Lincoln, CA.”
Frayji Design Group, a civil engineering firm in Sacramento, is pleased to have been the roadway designer for the Nicolaus Road and Nelson Lane Project for the City of Lincoln as this project transformed the functionally obsolete two lane roads into upgraded streets incorporating modern safety features. This challenging project, filled with a myriad of hurdles, was successfully completed by the Project Team including Drake Haglan, Civil Solutions, Knife River, and HDR Construction Controls – with the final ribbon cutting in November 2014. The Owner, the City of Lincoln, trumpeted the achievement that “opened the front door” to the Lincoln Airport from the new Highway 65 Bypass.
The PCCA Annual Dinner also served as a showcase for the progress in Placer County and the new regional direction. While enjoying a fantastic dinner of chicken in lemon cream sauce and capers and sliced tri-tip with red wine demi, PCCA members were informed about new economic trends and forecasts for the region as well as the new accelerated processing system instituted by Placer County. Even though the information was “all business,” the atmosphere was fun and celebratory, from the good-natured ribbing to the prize-filled raffle.
The Annual Dinner Public Works Project of the Year was handily won by the superb Johnny Cash Bike Trail in Folsom that sported abutment towers made to look like Folsom Prison guard turrets. The Commercial Project of the year involved the energy and aesthetic upgrades of facilities at Travis Air Force Base, including replacement windows. The Residential Project of the Year was awarded to the dramatic remodel of a residence in Rio Linda to a needy family.
Each of these projects deserve high honors for their contributions to the betterment of the community.
The PCCA also continues to strengthen its solid reputation and influence in the region, having incorporated the El Dorado Builders Exchange in the past year. The new Board of Directors, introduced at the meeting, promised to excel still more as they build upon the diligent work of the prior board and the tireless staff. Frayji Design Group continues to be a proud supporter of the Placer County Contractor’s Association.
